Borders can constrict motion, transformation of information and knowledge, and create expectations and judgment. Within the notion of border, there always exists one side / and the other. But which side does the border itself belong to?

Without the idea of border there would be no sense of identity as there would be no possibility for distinguishing the differences (the idea of difference is to be understood as a rhizomatic and non-hierarchical entity). Marginally the term 'border' has been distorted and identity has been left unannounced.

Hence this discourse is broad and abstract and the situation of thought offers numerous interpretations. The presented Performances may challenge questions of personal restrictions, and RAZZMATAZZ 3 in its entirety is aiming to discuss and pose questions related to the concept of border.

RAZZMATAZZ 3 forms a consensus an overall image of Live Actions by artists from various disciplines.
There will be live image projections by artists who cannot join us physically.

Artists are the explorers of the borders of the futures. Often their work questions and challenges the edge of civilization, culture, and individual or mass limitations of consciousness and perception.

///

In this Seminar chaired by a group of artists from different disciplines the ideas of performance art and its place in their own practice presented and discussed.

RAZZMATAZZ 3 is aiming to de-localize and connect the physical borders, and to invite artists to come and perform at the Museum of Futures – MOF - in Surbiton. Those artists who cannot be with us physically will be joining us via Skype and we will endeavor to project their work ‘live’.

///

Placed in the suburbia of London, the Museum of Futures – MOF - is a multi-functional public space for the community. It incorporates and invites many different projects from a pop-up restaurant and cooking food together to a site for exhibitions and lectures.

///

☾RAZZMATAZZ is a platform for artists coming from varied backgrounds and disciplines to perform live action relating to their own practice. It is a sequence of exhibitions/ happenings which take place in different locations twice a year, during October and March. Each sequel has its own subject matter, questions and manifestations, where through open call or invitation a collective of artists is created that reflect on the matter. The series was created in October 2015 by established German artist Dagmar I. Glausnitzer- Smith and emerging duo collective Panicattack, because of the urge to experiment and the lack of performance art platforms for young, up and coming artists.
